The LA Stock Pitch Competition (LASPC) is the inaugural student-run stock pitch competition for Los Angeles high school students. It is hosted by Crossroads School and Marlborough School, but it is open to any student in grades 9 to 12 at any Los Angeles-area high school — you do not need to attend a host school to compete.
Pitch any publicly traded US company on the NYSE or NASDAQ, long or short, using only publicly available information. Required deck sections: business description, industry overview, investment summary, valuation and financial analysis, investment risks, and ESG considerations. Some form of valuation (for example a DCF or comparable-company analysis) is required. Scored out of 100 points: investment idea 50, slide presentation 25, live pitch 25. Judges are industry professionals — working analysts, portfolio managers, and finance faculty. Cash prizes are awarded to the top 5 teams: 10% of proceeds go to charity and the rest of the prize pool is split 35/25/15/10/5%.
